Virtual Field Trips

Providing students with authentic learning experiences is increasingly difficult with travel and health restrictions due to COVID-19. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite virtual field trip ideas for all ages.


San Diego Zoo – San Diego Zoo offers educational videos and live feeds of their animals including the pandas, penguins, and polar bears.



Georgia Aquarium – Georgia Aquarium offers educational videos and live feeds of their exhibits including the Ocean Voyager, Underwater Puffin, and Jellyfish exhibits.



Farm – Take a virtual tour of a food generating farm both on desktop and mobile devices.



International Space Station – The NASA website has a surplus of virtual tours and educational materials, our favorite is a tour of the International Space Station.



Discovery Education – Discovery provides virtual field trips and supplemental learning activities. Discovery provides a wide range of topics from tech to the environment.



Yellowstone National Park – Yellowstone offers virtual walking tours of some of their main attractions include Mammoth Hot Springs, Mud Volcano, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and Fort Yellowstone.



Smithsonian – Enjoy online history, science, and art exhibits from the Smithsonian museums. Online resources include self-guided and narrated virtual tours of past and present exhibits.



Colonial Williamsburg – Colonial Williamsburg offers multiple virtual resources including access to museum exhibits and interactives, virtual tours, videos with cast members and craftsmen, and live interactive field trips on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays at 2 pm EST.



Ellis Island – Scholastic offers a virtual field trip to Ellis Island along with interactive activities.



United States Historical Landmarks – The Utah Education System has compiled a list of significant United States Historical Landmarks, organized into relevant periods. They include links to virtually explore these landmarks.



Louvre – The Louvre offers virtual tours of current and past exhibits.



Museum of Galileo - Enjoy a virtual tour of the Museum of Galileo, education videos, and virtual exhibits.
