Abyss Summoner

Chapter 541 - 528: Crimson Shroud

Chapter 541 - 528: Crimson Shroud

Chen Feng was the first to know about Flora’s accomplishments in the Abyss. As his Summoned Beast, they had a unique way of communicating.

Feigning disinterest wasn’t possible; even for the usually stoic Chen Feng, a hint of a smile crept onto his face. This left Yan Xiu, standing beside him, feeling on edge, unsure of what was going through his mind.

When Flora brought the information on Jinbi Gan’s data, Chen Feng coordinated a series of discussions with his subordinates.

The biggest difference between humans and animals is the ability to think.

Chen Feng was not arrogant; on the contrary, having experienced the apocalypse, he was more aware of this world’s horrors. Therefore, a long time ago, he established his own think tank.

The members of this think tank were undoubtedly elites from various fields. These individuals were company executives, degree professors, or senior police officers with decades of experience, even in peacetime.

These people were rich in experience and had a broad vision, far beyond the average person. If not for the apocalyptic environment, they wouldn’t have gathered together.

Every decision made in the apocalypse involved life or death. Thus, these individuals became Chen Feng’s think tank, providing excellent foresight in judging trends and situations.

Things in the Human World were relatively simple. The path Chen Feng took involved opening and closing decisively. No matter how fierce the enemy, they were crushed directly.

But the Abyss was deep. After occupying a fortress, planning every step towards stabilization, development, and the road ahead was nerve-wracking, because one wrong move could lead to complete failure.

Code name: [Abyss]

During this period, Flora had a smooth journey in the Abyss, accomplishing tasks with finesse. Chen Feng was not omnipotent; crafting a series of plans was too much for one brain, so the think tank helped share the mental burden.

There were twelve members in the think tank, all elites from various fields, some even in significant positions in the Order. Yet, when they learned of this mission, they were somewhat at a loss.

Strategizing the Abyss.

According to Chen Feng, it was a dimension thousands of times more terrifying than the Human World, with numerous powerful monsters. If it ever merged with the Human World, their realm would stand no chance.

At first hearing, it sounded absurd; in peacetime, people would think Chen Feng was joking or even a bit delusional. But the apocalypse had arrived, and they had already experienced numerous crises, forcing them to believe.

To conquer the Free City of Jinbi Gan, led by Chen Feng, the Order’s top echelon drafted a detailed battle plan a month ago.

Time wouldn’t give Chen Feng too many chances. Even if Flora seized the Mind-Reading Demon’s base, her efforts and cultivation couldn’t match the development rate of the Free City. The prosperity and growth levels of the two forces were not on the same level.

Thus, under these circumstances, the think tank devised dozens of plans, ultimately deciding to take a risk with a decapitation operation. As the name suggests, it was about breaching the Free City swiftly and taking control of its ruler.

To ensure the success rate, Chen Feng opened a passage to the Abyss, transporting a batch of explosives to Flora, aiming to create a breach in the Free City in the shortest time.

Despite numerous simulations, everyone knew countless possibilities could unfold during battle. Luck, tactics, and strength were all indispensable. Fortunately, Lady Luck was on Chen Feng’s side this time.

Jinbi Gan fell, disappearing into the river of history just like the Free City.

For the surrounding Demons, it was destined to be a dramatic change. Jinbi Gan, who had given the goblins dignity for hundreds of years by occupying the Free City, died just like that. Meanwhile, the invader who occupied this city was an inconspicuous Catman.

Furthermore, when Flora lifted the ban, allowing Devils and several other demon types into the fortress, it caused a stir.

Devils are the arch-enemies of Demons. Even if some Devils appear in fortresses, they do so under hidden identities and never openly.

Yet, who would have imagined that Flora would make such a decision despite these sensitive identities? This Demon Lord from the Catman lineage became the focus of many forces. And when they learned she was also a Master of Fist, some forces that underestimated her changed their attitude, including the Monk Martial Arts Team from the [Land of Extreme Evil], who expressed interest and declared they would visit the fortress soon.

Monks excel in unarmed combat, not merely relying on weapons in battle. Their renowned fist and kick techniques flow seamlessly, unconfined by strict forms.

Many monks prefer to use clumsy body techniques and drunken, hazy glances to render enemy attacks ineffective, allowing their allies to strike while enemies are bewildered. Some monks are adept at summoning mist’s Divine Power, regulating allies’ energies, invigorating blood circulation, and healing ailments.

Monks, due to their nature, lack a stable residence, but due to their formidable strength, they remain a significant force in the Abyss.

These [Ascetics] lead repetitive and monotonous lives. When this force also showed interest in Flora, her reputation soared, making her a rising star in the Abyss.

Yet even with remarkable influence, Flora had to learn to stay low-key, as many terrifying entities existed on this level.

The Bottomless Abyss offered infinite layers, and the one Flora occupied was known as the Broken Realm.

A powerful ruler resided here, the [Red Shroud], an Enchanting Demon Mage controlling a place called Broken Domain Town at the center of this realm.

Red Shroud, an Enchanting Demon Mage, governed Broken Domain Town, a gathering point for mercenaries for blood battles, a transit station for explorers venturing into the Bottomless Abyss, and a trade hub. The town consisted of crumbling towers surrounded by trenches, walls, and spiked barriers.

Red Shroud was an outstanding ruler, with several important areas beneath Broken Domain Town. For instance, a town leading to the Outer Region, and the entrance to the Plague Siren lay beneath the main hall. The underground also housed food storages, armories, interrogation chambers, and catacombs, interconnected by narrow tunnels.

Rooms for receiving visiting mercenaries and traders were above ground, beside the tower-like main hall. Inhabitants mixed worshipper slaves, various demons, and golems from the material realm or beyond.

She was the hub of this realm, uninterested in governing nearby Lords’ invasions and skirmishes, as long as they posed no threat to her.

Red Shroud possessed power exceeding the legendary, rumored to touch the edge of Epic status. Flora was dazzling, but to this Enchanting Demon Mage, she was just a slightly stronger ant. Naturally, unless absolutely necessary, Flora wouldn’t provoke this horrifying entity.

Broken Domain Town lay on the war frontier; apart from daily blood battles, the trade between Demons and Devils was a primary income source there.

A terrifying demon.

The think tank unanimously believed that, without sufficient power, they needed to stay away from her.

This aligned with Chen Feng’s plan: in the Abyss, he had established a stable force. Before further expansion, he needed to pause and make this fortress more prosperous.

Rewinding time to the Human World, Chen Feng resumed normalcy. The Abyss matters were fully entrusted to Flora and the think tank to follow the plan, so no significant issues would arise.

For now, though, Chen Feng had other important matters.

A group followed Yan Xiu toward Xiamen City. Along the way, once a dominant figure, Yan Xiu seemed uneasy. Though standing, his posture was upright, fists clenched. Chen Feng gave him so much shock that even knowing this defense was futile, his body responded instinctively.

After a while, as a well-developed port appeared in front of everyone, Yan Xiu felt like a bird returning home—a sense of security washed over him. He lightly coughed and said to Chen Feng, "Look, we have arrived..."
