Just finished reading and the ending sucks. There are a few things that we can only assume happened after such as the MC marrying his other women. It was such an abrupt ending, it was mentioned that there was a higher realm above supreme grandmaster and that the Bai girl would soon reach it, but it never happened. All in all if you are reading for the cultivation, don’t bother. The cultivation is only there when it’s needed. Otherwise it’s just a comedy romance and sometimes serious story. There’s quite a lot of philosophical stuff and ‘war tactics’. Though explained in simple terms so it’s not a bother to understand. All in all it was a below average novel, readable, sometimes entertaining, sometimes annoying. The MC is also supposed to be ‘smart’, but he’s only smart when he needs to be and stupid all the other times. And he’s literally stupid for the plot.

funny novel.1. MC does corruption with the intention of becoming strong and also due to being forced by the system > hence becomes despised and hated (mostly by other officials & not common folks)2. Yet, secretly, he distributed his ill-gotten gains to the people, leaving nothing for himself. -> He a cultivator. What use is mundane silver taels? Its not spirit stone or spirit rice after all.3. He carried the weight of his bad reputation -> Not really. He can't just just do good openly as then there will be no corruption so no reward. 4. make the world a better place? ->by giving ill gotten gains back to the people who were supposed to get them in the 1st place if the mc hadn't commandeered it?5.empress/beautiful women/martial women who know the truth? -> mc gave his ill gotten fortune to only (intelligent/beautiful/martial) women so that's why only they knew. He didn't help men. So mc is sexist & discriminatory. Which explains -> Others were left in shock.

Oh hell no.

I find it quite funny but my sense of humor is really immature, besides that most of the characters aren't that capable for their job and seem quite unintelligent
