Chapter 429 Plans
Chapter 429 Plans
Mrs. Fukushima sat in her office, looking at the faces of Mr. London, Mrs. Beijing, Mr. Moscow, and Mr. Cairo on the screen.
"You've all seen what that boy said." Mrs. Fukushima supported her chin with her entwined fingers.
"We have." Mr. Cairo replied.
Mr. Moscow exhaled. "You called us but not Mr. Manhattan and Mrs. Athens. It seems you've already identified allies and those that are not."
"Oh, I called Arthur, and he's in support of the boy. I should have listened to you earlier, Mr. Moscow." She shut her eyes in regret.
"All this can still be handled. We have over thirty demigods under the authorities and fifty more attached to us directly or indirectly. That number will keep increasing, and the innate skills of a few can change the tide of a battle. That boy's knights are no threat." Mrs. Beijing responded.
"Are you on Arthur's side?" Mr. Cairo's cold voice rang out.
"Certainly not." Mrs. Beijing's reply made Mr. Cairo scoff. "The boy stopped the former most dangerous dungeon in the history of China, the Growing Dungeon. You must have some good wishes toward him."
Mrs. Beijing smiled softly. "I am no fool. His interference might create a world where people scrutinize the government more, which will slow down our progress. The European Union is struggling to regain its footing because we're facing Great Family strife and some powerful summoners claiming certain areas as their territory, especially now that there are demigods. There is global chaos, and once the people do not have a place to face and exhaust their negative emotions, it will fall on us."
Her smile bloomed. "I know all this quite well. I know the implications it will have in my country, but no matter how big one man grows, he can't outgrow the government. It's like a fish outgrowing its water tank." She scoffed.
"The result is death."
"Before he gets there, he will be big enough to become the most powerful predator. How are you going to deal with that?" Mrs. Fukushima tilted her head with a subtle scowl.
"Have him fight," Mr. London replied. "He already told us about his institution, the House of Order. We just have to face him at dungeon gates like we do other powerful people. He's not the only one powerful enough to cause a problem. We all have monsters in our countries or regions, and we also have endless dungeons."
Mr. London continued. "Stronger ones appear each day. Put him at the forefront to keep us safe until he dies or is worn out like Arthur. Let purpose blind him."
"Are you saying this because of what he said will happen in your nation?" Mr. Cairo asked with narrowed eyes.
"Yes. I also represent the royal family as a prince, Mr. Cairo. Why risk our forces and powerhouses for a dungeon when I can use an external force that is more than willing to help? If they die, good for me and everyone. If they clear the dungeon, good for me and everyone." Mr. London responded calmly.
"So we're accepting the House of Order led by a humanoid summoner. This will cause an uprising." Mrs. Beijing stated.
"We will tighten our surveillance, increase the duration of the program for humanoid summoners, and ensure by all means that Godfrey Daniels is alone. He'll soon discover that even with all his speeches, there won't be a difference."
The moment Mrs. Fukushima replied, Mr. Moscow spoke.
"What about what he said about Tokyo? I know a bit about plagues. I don't think the boy will make such bold claims to the public if they turn out to be a lie. This means there'll be a dungeon in Tokyo that might wipe out the entirety of Japan. Once a plague spreads out that much, I doubt it can be contained."
Mrs. Fukushima shook her head. "There's no need to be concerned. He told me all I needed to know. I can handle it."
"That won't be wise. You'll be risking your demigods, people with opportunities in this new age. Paris and Berlin have long caught up. If none of us are careful, we'll be replaced." Mr. London leaned forward.
"This is just advice."
With that, he disconnected. Others did the same until the screen became black.
Mrs. Fukushima leaned back. It was time to unleash one of her nation's greatest weapons. A man. A samurai summoner.
It was strange that despite their attempts, humanoid summoners usually came out on top. At every turn, they were showing their superiority, but to Mrs. Fukushima, that didn't mean they could lead.
'A bull might be stronger than a human, but that didn't mean it could lead a household,' she murmured under her breath.

In the Pendragon Mansion, after an intense day, everyone relaxed in the hall, exhausted from the activities of the day.
"So we've made it known. What next?" Isaac asked.
"We wait." Godfrey and Isolde replied at the same time.
The UK just had a week's span before that gate would open up, and Godfrey knew that they would surely call him.
And if they did not, he would barge in to clear the dungeon. In the end, the rewards of the dungeon were worth it, even if they were not invited.
"Isaac, handle some surrounding dungeons. Isolde, you're going to deal with your family. After what happened today, there'll surely be backlash. I'm heading to Paradise."
His eyes flashed. "I need to know what happened to Percival and Lucy and why they're not in Paradise."
"Are you sure about that? I feel like you need to rest. You'll break down at this rate." Neila retorted.
Godfrey turned to Isolde and saw her pursing her lips. She sided with Neila.
"You've not meditated in a while, and even when you try to rest physically, your mind is still going on and on. You weren't involved physically in the Creeping Darkness Dungeon, but the next one might be different, and if you're not in your peak state, the consequences might be dire."
Isolde replied.
"A week isn't long at all," Neila added.
"I'll look for them while clearing the dungeons," Isaac proposed.
"This next dungeon won't be as easy. You said you saw those beasts. Their numbers were easily in the thousands, but it's going to be different once we step into their dungeon. A stampede of that level can crush anything and everything in its path. We're dealing with something that can level a city in one go. Don't take it lightly. Luck isn't on our side this time around." Isolde pressed.
"Isaac will do it. I'll send Ballista with him… Any idea where they might be?" Godfrey asked.
