Chapter 186: Digging past of sisters
Chapter 186: Digging past of sisters
Rohit narrowed his eyes as he noticed Ragini’s face turn pale at the mention of Doctor Aditya Nath. Interesting... There’s clearly more to this relationship than she’s letting on.
Ragini quickly composed herself and asked, "Can you show me the medicine? Where did you find it?"
Rohit shrugged casually. "Oh, I already threw it away. The label said it was manufactured decades ago."
He leaned back. "I just happened to connect the name with what you said. Is that a big deal?"
Ragini let out a sigh, visibly relaxing. "No... of course not."
She waved it off with a smile. "Anyway, I need to go now. It’s almost time. See you soon, honey."
"Wait," Rohit said quickly. "I wanted to ask about Hari Kaka."
Ragini froze for a split second. "Why... what did you want to know about him?"
"My bodyguard is still hospitalized and there’s no replacement. As the chief butler, I thought he’d be responsible for assigning new ones. But he’s been absent ever since you left."
Ragini relaxed again. "Oh, that. Arya already informed me. You won’t be able to reach him — he’s gone to his village for his daughter’s marriage. Talk to Secretary Pathak. He’ll handle it."
Just then, another voice called out for Ragini in the background. She gave Rohit a warm smile and waved.
"Bye, honey. Take care of yourself. It’s time."
Rohit nodded and waved back. "Take care, Mom. Have lots of fun."
The video call ended.
Rohit leaned back in his chair, piecing everything together in silence.
Ragini was deliberately hiding something about Aditya Nath — and that intrigued him more than anything.
Hari Kaka was likely a major link. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have covered for his sudden absence so smoothly.
There was a high chance she would dismiss him before returning.
Riya was clearly not what she appeared to be, but her real motivations remained clouded.
And Arya... she had developed a deep resentment toward Riya ever since she returned from college.
Something significant must have happened.
Rohit stood up, changed into comfortable shorts, and sat back down in front of his laptop.
"I think it’s time," he muttered, eyes cold and determined, "to dig into the past of both my sisters myself."
For a few moments, he considered where to begin.
Riya was the more dangerous option.
Every clue seemed to circle back to her in one way or another. The accident. The medicine. Arya’s hostility. Even Ragini’s hesitation whenever her name surfaced.
But that was precisely why he decided against starting with her.
A mystery was easier to solve when approached from the edges rather than the center.
Arya was the safer starting point.
"Lisa."
The AI interface immediately responded.
[Yes, sir?]
"You heard everything from my conversation with Ragini."
[Correct.]
"Good. Put Arya’s phone under full analysis. Messages, media, deleted files, backups—everything. I want anything remotely connected to Riya, the medicine incident, Doctor Adityanath, or events surrounding my mother’s accident."
A processing window appeared on the screen.
Several progress bars began moving simultaneously.
[Analysis complete.]
Rohit’s eyebrow twitched.
"Sometimes I forget you’re not human."
[Thank you, sir.]
"That wasn’t a compliment."
[Noted.]
A summary window appeared.
[96 sensitive conversations identified.]
[36 photos archived.]
[12 private videos detected.]
[Only one conversation directly references either Riya or the medicine incident.]
Rohit frowned, not expecting the sheer volume. "What are they about?"
[Mostly regarding her past and current relationships. Except for that one message, there is no further link with Riya.]
"Very well. Show me the message."
[Loading customized chat clip from Facebook Messenger...]
The conversation appeared on screen:
[Arya: Can you stop sending gifts? We don’t need them. I’ve sent everything back to your house. Stay there and forget about us.
Riya: That wasn’t for you. It was meant for Rohit.
Arya: He has plenty of watches. He doesn’t need anything from you.
Riya: Why are you so rigid? Are you afraid I’ll snatch him from you?
Arya: Stop spouting nonsense or I’ll block you. Don’t think I’ve forgiven you for what you did.
Riya: I already apologized for that. And if you’re still sore about the medicine incident, just because it was misplaced in my room doesn’t mean it was me.
Arya: Like hell I would believe you. You made me separate from my mother and even tried creating a feud between my boyfriend and me.
Riya: Because I was worried about you. He was using you.
Arya: Even if he was, it’s none of your business. Stay away from me and my family.
Riya: Fine. Then you also don’t meddle between me and Rohit. He is not even part of your esteemed family.
Arya: Listen, bitch. You are a married woman and you have no ties with the Singhanias anymore. And if you think you can still come to our house in my absence, just wait and watch. That’s my final warning.
Riya: Listen, Arya, you have a big misunderstanding."I swear Rahul was involved with another girl. I saw them at the airport.
Arya:
Rohit tapped his fingers on the desk as he processed the new information.
The findings weren’t very different from what Ragini had said.
There was clearly a deep feud involving the medicine incident and Riya’s declaration. But one new name stood out — Rahul.
"Who is this Rahul guy?" he asked.
A profile window immediately appeared.
[Former boyfriend of Arya Singhania.]
[Relationship duration: approximately four years.]
[Current status: professional rival within the gaming industry.]
Rohit leaned back. "Any particular reason for the breakup?"
Lisa’s voice followed.
[No clear reason found. Only occasional mentions where Arya calls him a threat to her career.]
Rohit gave a dry laugh.
"That sounds exactly like Arya."
His eyes returned to the chat.
Riya had claimed Rahul was involved with another woman.
Arya had blocked her immediately afterward.
Whether Riya had been telling the truth or not, it was obvious she had inserted herself into the relationship.
No wonder the feud escalated.
For a moment, Rohit considered digging deeper into Rahul’s history.
He paused, then asked, "What about her current relationship dynamics? I don’t want to shuffle through all the videos. Give me the one that best summarizes it."
[This video is the most optimal. Caution is advised.]
Rohit snorted. "Since when do I care about warnings?"
He pressed play.
The video showed Arya sitting on a table with her shirt open, passionately kissing and fondling Sheetal , her secretary , who was in a similar state of undress.
Rohit was momentarily stunned.
"Hmm.. that’s a new revelation," he muttered.
Then a dark, hungry grin spread across his face.
"Not like I have a problem with that. Getting my hands on both of them at once would be quite appealing."
The idea of a steamy threesome really suited his taste. However, as he continued skimming through the chats, his mood quickly soured.
It turned out to be nothing more than a situationship born out of boredom.
It had never progressed beyond pseudo-sexual encounters. No wonder Arya was so chill about offering mutual masturbation for stress relief.
That also meant he won’t have the emotional leverage to both girls as well. Far worse sheetal can still shrug him off and leave the company totally cutting of their relationship.
He continued skimming through the chats. It was mostly nagging and complaining between the two women.
Sheetal often vented about her workload and her husband’s growing suspicion.
Finally a grin played across his lips as he found a loose end to bind sheetal if played nicely. He skimmed through again going through Arya’s reponses as well.
Most of them were rants about her cousins and Rohit’s immaturity.
There was also jealousy toward Rahul’s success in the gaming industry. All ladies talk.
Rohit sighed. "Well... that’s enough for now. Let’s try digging into Riya. Lisa, get started."
A processing window appeared on screen.
[Analysis complete.]
A summary window popped up.

Rohit tapped his fingers on the desk. "Show me in order that makes sense."
[Loading customized mail message, timestamp: 7 years back.]
Rohit immediately straightened. The date matched exactly with the time of the accident.
[Dear Riya,
Your cooperation to national service is greatly appreciated. But we need more cooperation. We have received the package but the address is not mentioned. Get the details of the person connected to the target.
Regarding your mother’s death autopsy, indeed it was altered. Your doubt about her death was not from an accident but rather something else feels more plausible.
Maybe she was poisoned, which led her to failing to control the steering wheel. But these are still speculations until we get concrete evidence. We are still pursuing this matter seriously but it will still take time.
With regards,
SIA Meher Kashyap]
Rohit frowned. National service. Package. Riya’s mom — or rather Raj’s first wife’s death autopsy. SIA... this looked something big and dangerous.
"This is too vague. What does SIA stand for?"
[Based on the circumstances, it appears to be much related to a post-Senior Intelligence Analyst of IB team. Also, there are other messages that you must give a look.]
Rohit went through the other messages. It clearly showed that Riya had stolen prescriptions and medicines from Ragini’s room to find out the address as per orders.
In return, there were also detailed reports about the investigation Riya had requested regarding her mother’s death, which was badly interrupted after the mysterious death of the doctor responsible.
The organization name was never mentioned, but it clearly pointed to one direction which was more likely to interfere.
It was very likely the IB who might have recruited her as their agent to get their hands on that miracle doctor.
Rohit sighed, clearly not expecting her to play into their hands. He could roughly estimate why she cooperated and then why it stalled.
"Any other information?"
[Loading images.]
Rohit clicked on the file. It was a gynecologist report stating her fertility rate, which was fine.
"Why are you showing me this? How is this related?"
[Loading clipped conversation, timestamp: 6 months back.]
[Riya: You didn’t come today. Do you remember our anniversary?
Jeet: I sent a gift.
Riya: I wanted a husband, not a gift.
Jeet: What do you want?
Riya: A child. Or a divorce.
Jeet: Neither is possible for now.
Riya: Your mother still blames me for losing our baby.
Jeet: Again? Don’t start.
Riya: Have you ever loved me?
...
Jeet: You already know the answer.
Riya: Then what am I to you?
Jeet: If you’re that unhappy, talk to your father. He brought you into this arrangement.
Riya: So that’s all I am? An arrangement?
Jeet: I’m in the middle of something. Don’t text me again.]
Rohit huffed as he took a moment to digest everything. So it turned out to be exactly what he had suspected.
Her marriage with the Dadanis was not going well, and she was bound to him for some reason despite knowing he is not into her.
The gynecologist report clearly showed she was not infertile, so there had to be some other problem.
The more he thought about this matter, the deeper it looked.
He clicked his tongue. "Any relevant information of Riya contacting any other agency regarding her mother’s death?"
A progress bar appeared.
[One thread found.]
"Show me."
[Loading clip from Skype, timestamp: 2 years back.]
[Clara: Mrs. Dadani, your proposal is interesting. If you can leak out details of your father-in-law’s partnership with the Israeli alliance, perhaps we can help. Here are the details of smuggling of medical waste imported by Singhania Industries in the label of fertilizers. Consider this your first gift.
Riya: I need time, but I need additional support.
Clara: Will be provided, but first sign the required document.]
Below was the document.
As Rohit clicked it, it asked for all of her background information without the organization name.
Rohit brushed his temples. "Now what is this again? CIA? MIB? What deep waters are you into, sister?"
