Seeing the caller ID displayed as L, Logan Shaw couldn’t help but feel his heart tighten.

After L contacted him that day, he saved L’s number.

Now, L was calling him again. What was it this time?

Logan Shaw was still worried about Evelyn Morgan; he had tried reaching her all night, but her phone was off.

"Evelyn has been kidnapped. I know where she’s being held. You must rescue her before Caden Lockwood does," L ordered.

"You?" Logan Shaw was vigilant. "What do you actually want? I won’t trust you!"

"You don’t have to trust me, but if you call Aunt May, you’ll find that Evelyn truly has been kidnapped!" L urged. "If you show up by her side in her most desperate time, she will certainly love you wholeheartedly. Are you really going to let Caden Lockwood have such a perfect opportunity?"

"It’s not a matter of letting or not." Logan Shaw replied coldly. "If Evelyn is truly kidnapped, I will certainly go rescue her. But I don’t trust you, and I feel this is all a trap you’ve set for me."

"What do you have that’s worth me harming?" L retorted with a bad tone. "If you continue to be this stubborn, you’ll only lose Evelyn in the end!"

Logan Shaw fell silent.

He had always believed in something called fate. If love required forceful measures, was it truly happy love?

If Evelyn truly loved him, they would overcome all obstacles to be together.

"I’ll send Evelyn’s location to your phone. You can call your brother to verify if my words are credible. If you miss this chance, I won’t help you again because, as someone who doesn’t know how to seize opportunities, you can’t possibly bring happiness to Evelyn!"

With that, L hung up, obviously angry.

Logan Shaw opened his mouth, wanting to ask who L really was, but only a cold and emotionless busy tone echoed in his ear.
